Why the Kickstarter?

The Zombie Haggadah is already fully written (and edited and written and edited…) and illustrated. We even chose publishers who will work to get a quality product mailed directly to your home the week before Passover!

If we meet our goal, we’ll use the kickstarter funds to purchase our first book order in bulk from our publishing company:

  • Backers will pay less for the book – By ordering in bulk, we can offer the book for $13/book + shipping as opposed to $20/book + shipping and taxes.
  • Better Quality – We would be working with our own account manager at the publisher, so we could request our own formatting, paper quality, cover quality, and have creative control. This is especially important for a product like a Haggadah, that is all about formatting and layout.
  • Reach homes by Passover! That is our goal, and we received an attainable timeline from the publishers for that goal to be reached. *This is something we are trying to accomplish in the US, not overseas orders. We’ll ship out the book ASAP, but if it doesn’t arrive on time for the 2017 holiday, it’ll definitely be there for 2018
  • Kickstarter is all or nothing. So if we don’t hit our goal, we don’t get to order in bulk. Even if we receive a large number of orders for the book through this Kickstarter, and we still fall short of the goal, your money is returned and we will not be supplying the book at the discounted rate.
  • Develop a Zombie Passover community. Exactly how many disturbed individuals would actually want a copy of this grotesque and ridiculous creation? It’ll be great to get to know so many people with similar interests!

Why this Goal?

This is a passion project in the truest sense, we put a lot of time and effort in creating a fun and unique book that we hope everyone will love to read and share, but if we hit our goal exactly, we will be making absolutely no profit off of our kickstarter. Everything raised will be used for publishing costs and other fees necessary for the release.

Our goal is to raise $1,850.00

  • 100 copies of The Zombie Haggadah Paperback: $1,148
  • Shipping Fees: $500 (apx. $5/book)

  • Kickstarter Fees: $1,730.40 (5% fee)
  • Payment Fees: $1,816.92 (between 3% and 5%)

Total Price + Fees = $1,816.92 for 100 books

To account for unexpected costs (packaging/taxes/expedite shipping…), we rounded up to $1,850. If everything runs well, we’ll just use the extra funds to purchase a few more copies to keep on stock.

Again, Kickstarter is an all or nothing deal. If we don’t raise the amount necessary for the goal, all backers payments will be returned and we’ll have to publish one-offs and relaunch for the 2018 Passover.
